These 3 Workouts are Trending Right Now! – Popular Workout Ideas

Keeping ourselves fit and healthy, both physically and mentally, is vital if we want to enjoy a long, healthy, and happy life.

After having spent the best part of 18 months stuck indoors, it’s safe to say that many of us could stand to lose a few pounds, and get our fitness levels up a notch or two in the process.

If you are looking to get back in shape, finding a suitable workout program to follow is essential, which is where the internet can help. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, we have access to a whole wealth of knowledge right at our fingertips, including knowledge on how to get fitter and healthier.

One of the best things about the web is the fact that you can see precisely what’s trending and what’s popular at the moment. To help you find the perfect fitness routine to follow, here’s a look at 3 workouts which are trending right now.

High Intensity with Kayla

Created by world-famous fitness trainer and social media influencer Kayla Itsines, the High Intensity with Kayla (formerly known as BBG - Bikini Body Guide) is trending, and not for the first time either.

On her website, or her app, Sweat with Kayla, followers of this workout program will find three unique workout programs to follow:

The first of which is the original program, High Intensity with Kayla 1.0 which consists of 12 weeks of workouts lasting just 28 minutes. The next one is called High Intensity with Kayla 2.0, and builds on the foundation of the 1.0 program but adds in gym equipment to build strength. The final one is called BBG Beginner, focused on those who want to start exercising for the first time.

The programs can be purchased as an e-book (that's how our founder, Nina, started with these workouts back in 2013!) for €50. Or you can download the app which is subscription based at €20 per month and get started with a 7-day trial.

The app provides even more programs by Kayla Itsines, like her Low Impact, Zero Equipment and Post-Pregnancy programs. Additionally on the app you can access programs by other female trainers such as Chantel Duncan, Monica Jones, Kelsey Wells, and Cass Olholm.

Kayla's programs continue to impress and are in such high demand.

HIIT, otherwise known as High Intensity Interval Training, continues to be one of the most popular workout programs in the world.

HIIT has been trending in the world of health and fitness for close to a decade now, and when you understand what it’s all about and what it can do for you, it makes perfect sense.

HIIT requires participants to basically switch between slow and steady, low intensity exercise and fast-paced, high intensity exercise for a number of “rounds” or circuits. The idea is to alternate between the two so that you’re working at near 100% max effort, and around 20% when you rest and catch your breath.

A very simple example of HIIT would be to begin walking for 30 seconds before sprinting as fast as you can for 30 seconds, before slowing down and walking again and repeating the process over and over for the next 20-minutes or so.

Exercising outdoors

Okay, while this isn’t technically a workout program as such, as it is the most popular fitness trend for 2021, we’ve included it here today.

Because so many of us spent so much time stuck at home indoors, this gave us a new appreciation for the outdoor world and inspired many of us to combine our workouts with getting some fresh air in the great outdoors.

59.1% of adults chose outdoor exercise as their preferred method of getting fit, with activities such as hiking, mountain biking, trail running, and walking all being popular fitness choices.
